Oxigen was born in July 2004, out of a vision of an Indian professional entrepreneur and a South African company.
• The Indian Founder , Mr. Pramod Saxena, has been associated with the Cellular Industry since its inception in 1994 in India. He has rich and diverse experience of pioneering grass root businesses, including Telecom, in the post liberalization era.
• The overseas partners are Microsoft Corporation, USA and Blue Label Telecom, South Africa.
• Oxigen has formed a strategic business alliance with Microsoft Corporation, USA, which has taken equity and is a business partner, in the company. By partnering with Microsoft, Oxigen expects to expand its business rapidly in the virtual payments and distribution space using Microsoft’s Web & Mobile based technologies, as well as , getting access to Microsoft’s advertising services.
•The promoters of the 'Blue Label Telecom', a market leader in South Africa, in distribution of physical and virtual prepaid airtime. Besides operational expertise, they bring to the partnership time and market tested product technology, with a successful track record in competitive markets in South Africa and several other countries.
Pioneering the Mobile Recharge services in the country
In a short span of just 4 years, Oxigen has emerged as the undisputed leader in Single Point Recharge services in the country. It has pioneered the idea and execution of electronic virtual distribution of prepaid airtime, on behalf all major mobile operators.
The primary focus of Oxigen Services has been on recharge, subscriptions, billing and payments through electronic distribution.

This Platform further Distributes these services to Oxigen’s Pan India Retail Network of approximately 75,000 touch points, which it intends to grow to 250,000 by 2010 .
